Individual Therapy
A deeply respectful process incorporating practices of Gestalt therapy, Family constellations, and Byron Katie work, with a focus of developing increased awareness so that movement towards healing has a greater possibility.
Couple Therapy
For many years, I have been involved and loved working with couples. We work towards greater understanding of themselves and each other, respecting and enjoying WHO they really are in a given moment rather then fitting them into an image that is based on past conditioning. We notice and explore communication patterns and boundaries, with the trust that more fulfilling communication and contact will unfold.
Group Therapy
A deep passion of mine is group work. The possibility for each person to experience themselves in relation to others in the group has great potential for healing and real understanding of their world . The dynamics within such settings offers ingredients for self awareness, self acceptance and acceptance of people’s differences. group members have frequently commented about the change that they see in themselves because of the interaction, support and safety of the group.
Family Therapy
Family therapy Explores interactions with all members of the family unit. Family therapy works towards more harmonious interactions between all members of the family where all family members are seen and heard.
The Work of Byron Katie
The Work of Byron Katie is a deeply transformative process of self inquiry that gives people the opportunity to approach their problems from a perspective of clarity and inner peace. From this work, the root cause of suffering is identification with our thoughts, the ‘stories’ that are continuously running through our minds. The Work acts like a razor-sharp sword that cuts through that illusion and enables you to know for yourself the timeless essence of your being. In a workshop setting we would work with our projection. For more information please visit https://thework.com/
Gestalt Experiential Therapy
Gestalt Therapy is a psychotherapy based on the experiential idea of “here and now” and relationships with others and the environment. It has a well developed theory that combines phenomenological, existential, dialogical, and field approaches to the process of transformation and growth, of human beings.
At the centre of Gestalt Therapy lies the concept of “awareness”. People are encouraged to become aware of their own feelings and behaviours, and their effect upon their environment through enquiry. The way in which an individual interrupts or seeks to avoid contact with their environment is considered to be a substantive factor. By focusing on awareness of themselves as part of reality, new insights and self-healing can occur.
There are a lot of self improvement books that tell you how to change yourself. When you try and change, you manipulate and torture yourself, and mostly you just become divided between a part of you that tries to change and a part of you that resists change In coming to therapy, one learns greater acceptance, compassion and love for oneself and others. It is about bringing the unconscious or shadow part of oneself to full awareness which then facilitates integration, acceptance and wholeness. It helps the individual develop their own inner support, self responsibility and self acceptance.
Gestalt Therapy is powerful, direct and creative, while at the same time respectful of the individual’s process, their inner world and what is right for them.
Gestalt Therapy may not help you adjust to society, but instead will show you how to adjust to YOURSELF, to discover your own reality, your own humanness and truth and be more comfortable with it.
